How Orchard mutations work
Orchard mutations are the skill layer of the July 2026 event. A tree rolls its mutation set the first time it finishes growing. That set locks permanently for that tree — you cannot reroll without planting a new tree or using Cleansing Fertilizer to strip individual mutations. Every fruit harvested from the tree inherits the same mutations.
- Lock timing: first maturity only.
- No hard cap on how many mutations one tree can hold.
- Duplicates allowed — multiple Perfect stacks are the endgame chase.
- Orchard Fruit ≠ Evolution Fruit (Lemon → Orange → Purity chain).
Stacking rules (read before you keep a tree)
Community-verified stacking for v1.1.0:
- Same-stat positive effects stack additively on top of base 1x (Tasty +0.5 → 1.5x Cash; Perfect +7.8 → 8.8x Cash).
- Positive × negative on the same stat multiplies (a Cash buff times Draining hurts more than either alone).
- Duplicate negatives compound (two Draining ≈ 0.8 × 0.8, not a flat add).
- Confirm tooltips in-game after patches — BloxByte can tune values mid-event.
Positive mutations — full list
Fifteen positive mutations. Cash line (Tasty → Juicy → Exotic → Perfect) moves income the most. Speed line (Tart → Zesty → Wild → Blessed) accelerates income sources. Growth, walk, luck, and niche tags fill the rest.
Negative mutations — sell or cleanse
Five negative mutations. Eating them lowers Cash, income speed, growth, or walk speed. Prefer selling the fruit for Tokens or using Cleansing Fertilizer; do not treat them as buffs.
Best mutations to keep (tier list)
Use this keep/replace ladder during the limited event window:
- S — Perfect, Exotic: highest Cash multipliers; stack if possible.
- A — Juicy, Fast, Pure: realistic strong keepers for most accounts.
- B — Tasty, Blessed, Wild, Zesty, Tart: keep until replaced by better Cash/Speed rolls.
- C — Lucky, Stimulating, Voided, Slimy, Giant: situational (luck farm, walk speed, void weather, cosmetics).
- F — Slow, Draining, Lazy, Heavy, Dense: replace or cleanse.
Eat vs sell by mutation type
Eating applies a temporary character buff from that fruit's mutations. Selling converts the fruit into Orchard Tokens for Bob the Alien.
- Cash mutations — eat before big tycoon purchases; otherwise sell extras for Tokens.
- Speed / Blessed — eat when you need faster income ticks across sources.
- Fast — eat when you want the next orchard cycle sooner.
- Pure / Lucky — eat when you are actively rolling new trees for quality.
- Negatives — sell or cleanse; do not eat as your primary buff.
How to roll better mutations faster
Volume and luck tools beat random hope. Pair this page with the orchard-update shop section.
- Irrigation Kit + Soil Enricher → more cycles per hour.
- Mysterious Fertilizer (+2 mutations) and Ascendant Fertilizer (+1 guaranteed positive).
- Enriched Uranium (+2 mutations per tree on plot) + Lucky Clovers (rare chance).
- Higher Evolution fruit (toward Purity) raises base value and Pure mutation strength.
- Replant F-tier trees immediately — a locked bad set never improves on its own.
Common mutation mistakes
Avoid these during the July 3–27 window:
- Keeping a tree with Slow just because it also has Tasty.
- Ignoring Pure while chasing only Perfect on day one.
- Spending all Tokens on decor before mutation fertilizers.
- Confusing Orchard mutations with Grow a Garden-style crop names (Aurora, Frozen, etc. — not in Sell Lemons).

Orchard Mutations FAQ
What is the best Orchard mutation in Sell Lemons?
Perfect is the best cash mutation at 8.8x Global Cash. Exotic (4x) and Juicy (2x) are the next cash keepers. Blessed is the strongest income-speed mutation.
When do Orchard mutations lock in?
The first time a tree finishes growing. After that, every fruit from that tree carries the same mutations until you replant or cleanse.
Should I keep Pure if it does not give cash?
Yes for long-event farming. Pure raises mutation luck (~+0.25x), which improves future rolls while you still have weeks before July 27.
What Orchard mutations should I replace?
Slow, Draining, Lazy, Heavy, and Dense. Sell their fruit for Tokens or use Cleansing Fertilizer, then roll a new tree.
Do positive mutations stack?
Yes. Same-stat positives add on top of base 1x. Duplicate negatives multiply and hurt more — clear them fast.
How many Orchard mutations are there?
Twenty in the current v1.1.0 set: 15 positive and 5 negative. Confirm in-game if a mid-event patch adds more.
Is Wild good or bad?
Treat Wild as a strong +3x income-speed positive unless your tooltip shows a debuff after a patch. Always read the in-game effect on your tree before keeping it.
Does eating fruit permanently change the tree?
No. Eating spends a fruit for a temporary buff. The tree's locked mutations stay the same for future harvests.
Where do I spend Tokens after selling mutated fruit?
At Bob the Alien's Orchard Shop — fertilizers, permanent plot upgrades, new plots, and decoration repairs. See the orchard-update guide for buy order.
Do Orchard mutations work after July 27?
The Orchard event ends July 27, 2026 at 5:00 PM. Mutation farming and Tokens go away with it; core tycoon progress remains.
